July 15th, 2007  - The 2nd Annual Railroads Day includes railroads theme events at the
  Durham Western Heritage Museum and Union Pacific Railroad Museum in Council Bluffs,
  Iowa. Today at Lauritzen Gardens, I visited the new Model Railroad Garden , viewed the
  display at Visitor & Education Center, and listened to Union Pacific Railroad Chorale .

  The Model Railroad Garden boardwalk was full of people. The garden was designed by landscape
   Paul Busse of Kentucky-based Applied Imagination. It features buildings and bridges of Omaha made

The North hall had a display of Nebraska related Railroad artworks & photos
 from the Museum of Nebraska Art in Kearney, Nebraska

The South Hall had a display of Memorabilia; Posters from various
 Railroad Routes and Lines, from the Union Pacific Railroad Museum.

In the floral display hall, a  table top "O gauge Module Model Railroad display" by
the Nebraska-Iowa Railroaders had bridges, Mountains, towns , a "working" Oil
Field, and an industry area.  Ice is being loaded into the box car in last photo above.		 Front desk plant
 were decked out for
Railroad Days.


Rail Songs in the festival garden

At 3pm, the Union Pacific Railroad Chorale gave a 45 minute concert of Patriotic &
  Railroad Songs, ending with "Dina working on the Railroad".  The concert had
some fun songs from competing railroads including one in this Video.
