The Omaha Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo's new
Orangutan forest exhibit now opens, the Friday before Memorial Day 2005. Photos taken on Saturday, May 29, shows the Orangutan are enjoying climbing the net enclosed man-made Banyan trees. Other items shown are roof construction of the indoor forest (opening in
late August 05) and waterfall below the exhibit.
Last row of photos have twins view of
Desert Dome behind north Banyan trees in the
Orangutan forest. The very last photo shows
Orangutan resourcefulness. With a arm peeking though a net opening, using a branch to pick up and eat popcorn.
